Needham High School (NHS) Friends of Music (FOM) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization committed to promoting the performing arts at Needham High School.
A parent-led booster club, the FOM mission is to support and enrich in-class and extracurricular music and theater programs while championing the success of the students those activities benefit. We strive to foster an engaged community of families, educators and students who share an interest in enhancing the vitality and excellence of performing arts offerings at Needham High School.
Highlights from last year included FOM’s support of three concerts (Winterfest, A Cappella Go, and Vocal Support), three musical theater productions, and one school play.
Directed and managed by a volunteer board, FOM achieves its mission in three main ways:

Raising money through our fall annual appeal and fundraising concerts such as Winterfest and A Cappella Go

Providing volunteer and monetary support to faculty, students, programs and events

Building a welcoming, engaged community of performing arts advocates at our general meetings and volunteer social receptions
FOM funds a variety of services and benefits including:
• Award grants for exciting and unique extra-curricular and in-class programs
• Provides professional sound engineers at concerts to ensure quality matches the talent
• Purchases upgraded equipment and provides ongoing training for tech students
• Provides support and publicity for musicals, concerts and the school play
• Enables broadcast of in-person events to remote audiences when possible
• Awards college scholarships to graduating seniors
