Students Acting to Make a Difference is a student-run theater production company. SAMD produces a show each school year to raise funds for charity. The primary goals of SAMD are: 1) to allow NHS students an opportunity to use their creative talents to raise money for a charity of their choice, and 2) to provide an inclusive theatrical experience for interested NHS students to supplement the artistic experience available at the high school. The SAMD show performances are in late October. Auditions are held the prior June (end of school year) at both Pollard (for rising 9th graders) and NHS.
The annual NHS Musical performances are in mid-March. Auditions are held in January. The musical is directed by Kristen Mazzocchi.
The annual NHS Drama performances are in early May. Auditions are held after the NHS Musical wraps production. The drama is directed by Kristen Mazzocchi.
Each year, one senior is chosen to direct a musical at the end of the school year. Performances are in early June. Seniors who are interested in applying should contact FPA Director Sutton (leeann_sutton@needham.k12.ma.us) before the holiday break in late December.
