On Saturday, January 21st, students from the Needham High School Music Department auditioned for the All-State Music Ensembles at Shrewsbury High School sponsored by the
(MMEA). Students qualified for these auditions by scoring in the top half of the Eastern Senior District Auditions previously held in November. The musicians auditioned with approximately 950 students from across Massachusetts for one of the positions in the All-State ensembles.
This year, a dozen students from Needham High were selected to participate based on their audition. Being a member of these ensembles is the highest honor for a high school music student in Massachusetts.
They will come together with their peers from across the state for a two-day festival on March 3-4, culminating in a performance at Symphony Hall on Saturday, March 4th at 12:45am.
