As a parent, you know that music is such an important part of your child’s life.

When you look up on stage, and see children singing or dancing or playing an instrument, you know they are expressing themselves in a very special way.

Needham has always supported its students who enrich us with their music talents. And we ask your help in continuing that support with a contribution to Needham High School Friends of Music.

This parent, faculty and student organization inspires passion, encourages personal growth, and helps provide the resources and opportunities that result in those magical moments we witness on stage.

Each year, FOM tries to increase our ability to support the music programs at Needham High School beyond the previous year, by contributing greater financial support. We appreciate your interest in donating to our efforts by completing our printable donation form.The revenue we raise from contributions through our annual appeal and other fundraising efforts provides support in the following ways:

Scholarships and Awards Up to $5000 is awarded each year to help defray the cost of attending state and regional music competitions for vocal, band, and orchestra students, fund attendance to the Drum Major Academy at UMass each year for the selected Marching Band student(s), and fund senior scholarships and awards for graduates who qualify and have participated in NHS music department performance groups and/or have worked in tech or stage crew.	Spring Social Event All music students and their families are invited to attend the annual Sunset Barbeque in June, hosted by FOM. Come celebrate the end of the year with NHS Music Department faculty and friends. An award ceremony will honor our graduating seniors and a select number of underclassmen.
The Bob Ayoub Instrument Fund These funds are designated for the purchase and replacement of school-owned instruments for all bands and orchestra.	Uniforms and Tuxedos Chorale tuxedo are funded by FOM. Venue Rental FOM FOM helps fund the venue rental for the Marching Band Annual Banquet.
Communications & Technology FOM funds enable parents to receive up-to-the minute information on music activities through our website www.nhsfriendsofmusic.org, printed materials, and email communications.	Hospitality  FOM generously arranges for refreshments throughout the year, including: Tech Week: to over 90 students during final rehearsal week of the musical WinterFest: at the dessert buffet Student Concerts: to audiences at all chorus, orchestra, and band concerts
