Get ready for football season! The Annual Marching Band Camp Week is typically held the last full week of August before classes are scheduled to begin. All students participating in Marching Band and Color Guard should plan to attend Marching Band Camp. Bring your instrument and comfortable shoes, as we'll be playing and learning new formations! You are welcome to try out a new instrument in Marching Band and you don’t need to be taking a band class or audition to join this fun group.
The first day of camp is geared toward new and prospective members, the rookies, and includes a focus on the fundamentals of marching. Seasoned Marching Band members will greet you, provide an orientation, introduce the music, and teach the basics of marching and formations. Any student considering joining Marching Band this year should be sure to attend Rookie Day.
The location is NHS Memorial Field (meet at the gazebo) or NHS Band Room if it rains. The NHS Friends of Music hosts a barbeque lunch for students at the end of the week. Please check the website for updated information or contact Drum Major, Tim O'Connor. You can also contact director
